| Ibws UniRex® inline dispersing machines have been responsible for groundbreaking innovations in dispersion technology. Now, ibW has re-engineered and optimized these popular models for better efficiency in 2002, creating the revamped UniRex® URL lineup. The rotor-stator combination of these inline mixers can now be adjusted to fit any kind of process or application. Dispersion itself is the process of splitting and then dispersing a solid, liquid or gaseous phase in a continuum not completely capable of mixing with that phase. Dispersing machines accomplish this process with a rotor-stator design that operates at high rmp. The medium in question is drawn radially into the dispersing head and then radially pressed through slits in the rotor-stator design. The high acceleration levels subject the material to strong shearing forces and turbulence that then result in optimal mixing of the suspension. The shear gradient and the retention time of particles in the shear field are critical for the dispersing efficiency. IbW?s UniRex inline dispersing machines have been responsible for many groundbreaking innovations in dispersion technology. The Althengstett-based company re-engineered and optimized these popular models for better efficiency in 2002, creating the revamped UniRex® URL lineup. The rotor-sator combination for these inline mixers can now be adjusted to fit any kind of process or application. Generally speakting, these new mixers are suited for any type of application involving emulsions, suspensions, lyosoles or homogenizaion. For specific fields of application, the inline mixers are also available in 3 stages, where 3 rotor-stator combinations are turned on sequentially. Eight models are available with power ratings ranging from 1.5 ? 3.0 kW (low end) to 37.0 ? 55.0 kW (high end) and water flow rates ranging from 1500 to 90000 l/h. Stainless steel contact surfaces, high-quality axial face seals and thermosiphon or controlled movement pressure transmitters round out the feature list of these new mixtures. According to ibW, th new mixers come with standard rotor-stator combinations rated for high/middle/low shear operation. All machines can also be delivered with sterile designs and sealing systems whose materials and surfaces are fully compliant with FDA guidelines. The company behind these impressive dispersing machines, ibW Rührwerkstechnik, is an independent, mid-sized company located in the southern German city of Althengstett. The company enjoys a sterling reputation in the mechanical engineering and process technology sectors, where it is known for its expertise and flexibility, fast response times, and painstaking approach in providing costum solutions to its customers problems. |

| Portable agitators: Direct mixing of media in a 60-220 litre barrel is feasible with the TurboRex® DRF series of agitators; the drive shaft is inserted through the bunghole. Two lifting handles attached to the mounting flange facilitate handling. Reinforced and enclosed bearings ensure a long service life. All barrel agitators are equipped with a folding propeller as standard. The mounting flange, shaft and agitator unit are made of 1.4301-type stainless steel. Special materials are avaliable upon request. | |
